Bear Lake

With all of Tyler's transitioning this year from an internship, to graduating, and two new jobs, we have not been able to take a vacation. So, I decided to see what I could do about that, even if it was for a weekend. I found a weekend available at our Bear Lake condo and booked it. Since Tyler's family didn't make it to their yearly camping trip to Bear Lake, we invited them to come with us. It started out a little rocky as we were supposed to leave Friday at 2pm. Tyler's parents were to be ready to go when we came to pick them up, but when we arrived at their house, there was no one to be found except the dog. Tyler called his Dad who said they were just on their way home. We waited, and waited. We waited some more and again we waited. Finally 45 minutes later they showed up, but they still had to pack everything. We became extremely frustrated because his parents knew when we were leaving. However, after we hit the road at about 3:15pm all was forgotten. It was a beautiful drive through the canyons seeing the different colors of foliage. Fall has definetly arrived. We made it to the condo at about 5:30pm. We had a great view of the lake from our deck and upstairs bedroom.

It was a lovely place to stay. Chad, Julie and Zach made it up later that night. Saturday morning we went down to the beach and spent the day there.

We have decided that September is the best time to go to Bear Lake, because no one is there. The water temperature was no different from the summer time and when the sun stayed out from behind the clouds, it was quite hot. We had a great time at the beach enjoying the sun, frisbee and water.

We all came home and took a nap because we were exhausted. We watched another movie and played games that night. Sunday morning we ate breakfast and packed up as we had to be out of the condo by noon. It was a nice getaway, and if we do this again next year, we decided we should stay one more day.

I love your picture of the sailboat. That is an awesome picture! Riley is extremely jealous that you went to Bear Lake and he hasn't been there "forever"! I'm glad you had fun. We want to come next year:)
