FARMINGTON BAY

In 2005, I found out about a great biking trail close to home. It is located at Farmington Bay. It is very beautiful with all the different types of birds and vegetation that grows there along the ponds. If you have never been there, you should take a trip out there. I rode my bike out there during hunting season. Probably not the best time to go for a bike ride, while people are shooting guns, but I stayed on the main trail and tried to keep quiet for them.

Hunters in the distance carting their load around trying to find the best spot.

The redish type plant you see on the right side of the picture is called pickleweed. It is a halophyte plant, which means it thrives in salty conditions.

Here is a close up of the pickleweed.
